Danny:
It's amazing, your
eyesight seems to be improved.
Michelle:
Yeah, um, yeah, it comes and goes, that's why I'm so scared right now…
Danny:
I think you're
lying, Michelle.
Danny:
The FBI was waiting at the
docks for that little shipment I told you about. My mother seems to
think that you had something to do with it!
Michelle:
Why would I do something
so stupid the first time that you confided in me? I can't even believe
that you're accusing me of something like this.
Danny: Let me tell you something.
If you did do anything so stupid, Michelle, I don't know if I could ever
forgive you.
Michelle:
Danny, I could never hurt
you. You need to understand that. You need to trust your feelings about
me.
Danny: Right now, I don't know
how I feel about you.
Michelle:
I heard you tell her that
you… that you cared about me. Honestly, it made me feel really, really
good, because it made me feel like you understood me, even if I've done
things that I don't like.
Danny: What? Tell me, what? What
kinds of things?
Danny:
Michelle, I'm glad you're
being honest with me. I had no idea that you were scared to be here. I
know how my mother can be.
Michelle: Yeah, she hates me, Danny.
She hates me. It doesn't matter what I do.
Danny: It does. It does matter
what you do, very much.
Danny:
I will take care of you if
you will just let me.
Danny: I'm
gonna miss you.
Michelle: I'm gonna miss you too.
Danny: It won't be the same
without you.
Michelle: Danny, I'm only going away
for a couple of days. I'm gonna be at my brother's just until my eyes
get better.
Danny: Yeah.
Michelle: Why do you look so sad?
Come on…
Danny: I don't wanna say goodbye
to you.
Michelle:
You know I have to go.
Danny: Yeah, ok… yeah, you do.
Danny:
How could you do this to
me? How? I have been going through hell… I have been trying to shut
down all of my feelings for Michelle, every bit of humanity, so that I
could do what's best for this family and get rid of her!
Danny:
Michelle, I am your
husband, and I wanna be there for you, I do, the same way that you'd be
there for me.
Michelle:
I hate this, this is
not…
Danny: What? What do you hate?
Michelle: Everybody's fussing over
me.
Danny: Fussing? Fussing? We're
talking about your eyesight! I mean, there could be something really
wrong, I hope to God there isn't, but if there were, and I let it go,
I'd never forgive myself. I would never forgive myself.
Danny:
This guy is the best,
Michelle.
Michelle: How do you know?
Danny: Because I know everything.
Michelle:
I can't believe you did
this for me.
Danny: What? Do you think I'm
just gonna sit around on my rear and do nothing? No, I'm gonna do
everything in my power to make sure you get the best care. I wanna take
care of you, ok?
Michelle: I
faked my blindness, I faked it.
Danny: Why?
Michelle: Because I didn't want you
to go to the docks that night, I wanted you to be safe.
Danny: What are you talking
about?
Michelle: I want to tell you the
truth.
Danny: About what?
Michelle: It was me, Danny. I called
the FBI.
Danny:
Do you know what I told my
mother I'd do to you if you betrayed me? Do you know what I told myself
I'd do?
Rick:
I want you out of this
marriage!
Michelle: I don't want out!
Abby: Ok, hey, are you serious?
Michelle: Yes, I'm serious. I want
to stay married to Danny.
Danny:
What? You guys knew that
Michelle killed my brother and so, what? You were protecting her?
Drew: And I wonder who we were
protecting her from, hm?
Danny: And now I am the
protector!
Drew: Well, you earned it, you
saved her life, right?
Danny: Yeah, I'm a real hero…
Michelle's hero.
Danny:
My wife has been trying to
send me to prison, my mother has been trying to get me to kill my wife.
That's a big joke, you're looking at the punch line.
Aunt
Meta: You do
care for him.
Michelle: There's something about
him. I don't know if it's the way that he looks at me, or the way that I
feel when I'm around him, I don't know what it is, but I can't explain
it, I can't.
Aunt Meta: Do you think maybe it's
love?
Michelle: I don't know. I wish to
God that I did know because it's there and it won't go away.
Michelle:
The only thing that I know
right now is that Danny told his grandmother that he loves me. I felt
so…
Aunt Meta: So what?
Michelle: So… special. Is that
crazy?
Aunt Meta: No, it's not crazy at all.
Michelle: It felt so good when I
heard that. And if I didn't care for him, then why would I feel that
way?
Michelle:
He needs to know that at
first I pretended to have feelings for him, but now, everything's
changed. Do you think he'd believe me?
Aunt Meta: Believe that the feelings
are real now?
Michelle: I think they are. Maybe
this could really work out.
Aunt Meta:
He's very well spoken, he
has lovely manners, you heard him say you were loved, but in this case,
none of that counts.
Michelle: Of course it does.
Aunt Meta: No. Because no matter how
nice he is to grandmothers and children and little dogs and cats, he was
raised to be ruthless. He was raised to be the kind of man his mother
groomed him for. What would your life be like with him?
Michelle: We could make whatever
kind of life we wanted to make; he can change.
Danny: Look
at us, look at how we're acting. You're terrified of me, you're pulling
knives, and I'm breaking down doors. We're right back where we started,
Michelle.
Michelle: What did you expect, we're
from different worlds, Danny.
Danny: Yeah, but I, I don't know,
I thought that there was a connection between us, an understanding, that
we would be able to make something good out of this.
Michelle: How?
Danny: By giving it time. I
thought we'd be able to make this marriage work, despite our differences
and our families.
Danny:
Since I have met you, my
life has spun out of control, and I have been trying to get it back, but
nothing seems to work. There's only one thing left for me to do,
Michelle. I'm setting you free.
Danny:
Don't worry; nothing is
going to happen to you. I'll work things out with my mother. I'll make
sure that you and your family are safe. And I give you my word, my word
is good, you know that. I have never betrayed you.
Danny:
Goodbye.
Michelle:
He let me go. It's over.
I'm finally free of Danny and his family.
Drew:
I don't know what to say.
Michelle: Neither do I, actually. I
can't believe it, I mean, I thought I was gonna spend the rest of my
life at that dining room table with Morticia staring at me from the
other end and now it's over and… yeah, it's over.
Drew: Congratulations, Michelle.
I mean, once again, you get what you want. How do you do it?
Michelle: Yeah, I did get what I
wanted, didn't I? I guess, yeah… so why am I not happy?
Danny:
It's all in there,
Mother… illegal deals, the payoffs, the kickbacks, the entire family
business, from the completely criminal to the highly questionable,
thanks to your excellent record keeping. I know exactly where all the
bodies are buried. That ledger is my insurance policy. If you touch
Michelle or her family at all, I'm gonna hand that over to the FBI.
Carmen: You love Michelle so much
that you'd set her free by keeping your own family hostage?
Danny: Good, very good. You are
finally understanding me.
Carmen: If you take down this
family, you go along with it. And by giving up your freedom, you give
her hers.
Danny: Well, that's a risk I'm
willing to take.
Jesse:
Question is, what are you
doing here, Danny?
Drew: Danny stopped by for a few
drinks; he's not staying long.
Danny: Yeah, I like it here. This
is where I met my first wife.
Danny:
Look, I know that you
never wanted him out of the picture. I know, the guy that you hated, the
one that you wanted out of your life was me, right?
Michelle:
I do not understand this
at all, Danny.
Danny: What don't you understand?
You've obviously found your one true love; enjoy it. I want you to enjoy
it.
Michelle: Why are you pushing me at
Jesse so hard?
Danny: True love warms my heart.
Michelle: No. I know how you feel
about me, I know.
Danny: Wh-what are you talking
about? What?
Michelle: Danny, I heard you tell
your grandmother. Don't you, don't you remember that at all?
Danny: Michelle, you know, you're
making… you're making way too much out of that.
Michelle: I'm not making too much
out of anything. You told her that you loved me. Danny, you told her you
loved me! Are you saying you lied to your grandmother?
Danny: She's not well. I just,
you know, I wanna make her happy, put a smile on her face. I'll say
anything.
Michelle: So you're telling me that
you never loved me ever?
Danny: Just like you never loved
me. It's all part of the act, right?
Michelle: All part of the act.
Right.
Danny:
I do love you.
